RHS Cheer Squad Rules 2006-2007
Cheerleader Conduct and Responsibilities
- A cheerleader shall cooperate with the captain, the coaches, the game officials, other athletic coaches, and other squad members.
- A cheerleader should be enthusiastic, prepared, and in command of the situation at all times.
- A cheerleader should not eat, drink, or chew gum while on the field or court.
- A cheerleader will not drink any beverage other than water while wearing a cheer uniform.
- A cheerleader should not sit in the stands or leave the squad between the designated meeting time before the game and the end of the game.
- A cheerleader should not talk while on the sidelines or while performing.
- A cheerleader will wear their designated uniform to school on game day.
- A cheerleader will not leave the team without telling the coach and will not break formation to visit with friends or each other.
- A cheerleader will not use profane language or gestures during practice or games.
- A cheerleader will not show negative facial expressions or hand gestures over a call by a game official that may not be favorable to our home team.
- A cheerleader will return from half time and be ready to cheer one (1) minute before second half play begins.
- A cheerleader will not let his/her job or other extra-curricular activities interfere with cheerleading.
- Cheerleaders are expected to attend classes and complete assigned work. If you miss a lab or test, you must make arrangements to make up the work before school starts or at a time when it does not conflict with cheer practice.
- If you are ill and do not attend school the day of a performance, you will not perform at the game. If you miss school on the day of a practice, you may come to practice but you will not be able to participate.
- A cheerleader shall not wear any cheer game uniform or any other t-shirt, skort, or RHS cheer clothes in public unless it is for an official cheerleading event. A cheerleader will not lend any article of cheer clothing to students that are not members of the squad.
Cheerleading Constitution
We, the Redmond Mustang Cheerleaders...
- Will always provide the crowd with a smile and promote school spirit during and after games, and will constantly display a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.
- Will respect my squad mates and coaches for their hard work and determination.
- Will put academics first before cheerleading and any other activity.
- Will always remember that I am a role model and a leader and will act accordingly.
- Will come to practice on time, ready and willing to work.
- Will follow all school and squad rules and set a good examaple for others.
- Will develop a "thick skin" and won't take criticisms personally.
- Will keep personal information of other squad members to myself and not gossip.
- Will take good care of squad uniforms, props, and any other cheer materials.
- Will have a fun and exciting cheer year, which will remain in my heart forever!
Violations of this code wil result in sanctions appropriate to the violation and determined by the Coaches or Captains.
